Volunteer Opportunities

Positions Available in the Following Areas of Interest:


A Public Research Assistant works in our Research Room greeting visitors and answering questions about our genealogy resources, microfilm, and textual records. This includes assisting visitors who use our public access computers, microfilm readers, and finding aids.

An Archival Staff Assistant performs holdings maintenance of federal records which includes unfolding, flattening, re-boxing documents, and creating indices.

A Public Program Assistant helps with preparations for our various public and educational programs. This may include scanning, updating our databases, and putting together mailings as needed.

How does it work?

Simply complete the Expression of Interest Form. Forms will be reviewed by staff and selected applicants will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator. Selected candidates will be invited to an interview where they can learn more about specific opportunities for volunteering.
