Key Center Director Measures


I. Training Measures

A. Ensure that essential and comprehensive training, education and professional development are provided to employees as required by Section 742 of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. 
 

  1. Total number of training events in the month
  2. Total number of CDRH employees who completed training events in the month
  3. Total number of Office of the Center Director (OCD) employees who completed training events in the month
  4. Total number of Office of Management Operations (OMO) employees who completed training events in the month


II. Integration Measures

A. Increase the percent of intra- and inter-office eConsults completed on time. eConsults are used to facilitate the exchange of scientific information and staff expertise across CDRH, therefore promoting collaborative efforts within the Center. Inter-office consultations are completed for a variety of work products requiring expertise across CDRH offices, including premarket device submissions, post-approval studies, and compliance and enforcement actions.

  1. Percent of CDRH intra- and inter-Office eConsults completed on time during the month

Program Measures


Office of the Center Director (OCD)

I. Guidance Development Measures

A. Clearly communicate to our external constituencies the practices, recommendations, and requirements of CDRH policies and programs.

  1. Cumulative percent of guidance documents cleared by OCD

B. Take final action on 50% of draft CDRH guidance documents issued between February 27, 1997 and September 30, 2009

  1. Cumulative percent of guidance documents for which a final action (i.e. issue as final or withdraw) was taken by CDRH


II. Strategic Planning Measures

A. Strengthen our ability to promote and protect public health by strategically pursuing opportunities in identified priority areas of activity. 

  1. Cumulative number of CDRH 2012 Strategic Priorities actions listed in the plan completed

     

Office of Management Operations (OMO)

III. Employee Performance Management Appraisal Program (PMAP) Measures

A. Assure on-time implementation of Performance Management Appraisal Program (PMAP) plans for new CDRH employees.

  1. Percent of PMAPs for new CDRH employees completed on time - within 30 days of arrival (DOA) - during the month


IV. CDRH Time Reporting System (CTRS) Measures

A. Assure accurate recording of time utilization by CDRH employees.

  1. Percent of CTRS-reporting employees who reported their time during the quarter
