Denver Acquisition and Logicstics CenterThe VA Denver Acquisition & Logistics Center (DALC) provides products, services, and business solutions to veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and other Government agencies.  The DALC manages cradle-to-grave supply chain management for the VA National Hearing Aid and Telehealth Programs and supports VA and other Government agencies with professional acquisition and logistical services.  Commodities managed include worldwide distribution of hearing aids, hearing aid accessories, cochlear implants, assistive devices, batteries, prosthetic socks, orthotic soft goods, aids for the visually impaired, and telehealth messaging hubs and peripherals.  Veterans may order many items directly from the DALC and have them shipped to their homes, reducing unnecessary trips to medical facilities and enhancing efficiency of clinical staff.

The DALC manages the VA’s only hearing aid repair program by providing eligibility verification, problem diagnosis, hearing aid programming retrieval, cleaning, repairs, vendor management, and quality control.  The DALC supports business development and marketing of products and services for the Office of Acquisition and Logistics by identifying new business opportunities and providing training to vendors wanting to do business with the VA.

Doing Business with the DALC

The Acquisition Staff develops contracts for the commodities and services managed by the DALC.  These include hearing aids, hearing aid accessories, hearing aid repair, cochlear implants, assistive devices, batteries, prosthetic socks, orthotic soft goods, and aids for the visually impaired.  In addition to contracting efforts for commodities and services to the VA Acquisition Academy, the DALC provides complex acquisition services to other VA organizations.  The Acquisition Division currently supports Congressional pilot programs and national-level contracts for the Chief Business Office and other offices within the Veterans Health Administration.  Some of these efforts include national contract vehicles for non-VA Veteran Care, Dialysis, Assistive Living, regional pilot programs for VA’s Rural Health Initiatives, and support to the VA’s OEF/OIF Mental Health services program.
