Andrew Sisson
Mission Director

Andrew Sisson was appointed USAID’s mission director in Indonesia in October 2012.
He most recently served as mission director in Pakistan, managing one of the Agency’s
largest programs worldwide.

Sisson previously served as USAID mission director for the Central Asia Region and the
East Africa Region, and as deputy mission director in Kosovo.

A Senior Foreign Service Officer with the rank of Minister Counselor, Sisson has more
than 20 years of development experience. Under his leadership, USAID will continue to
work with Indonesia under the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership inaugurated
by Presidents Barack Obama and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 2010.

Sisson has a Bachelor’s Degree from Williams College, a Master’s Degree and a Ph.D.
from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and a Master’s Degree from the National
Defense University, where he has also taught, in Washington, D.C. His areas of interest
include economic and political development, reconstruction and stabilization.
