Purpose:The dates for the next Federal Mobility Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) will be March 11-12, 2013, at the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, MD. The host of the upcoming TEM will be the Federal CIO Council Information Security and Identity Management Committee (ISIMC). The focus will be on the Digital Government Strategy (DGS) Milestones #5.5 and #9.1. Keynote speakers will discuss how mobility transforms the way Agencies address their missions and the impacts mobility has across use cases. The use case areas are national security systems, federal users, state/local/tribal/territorial, partners (labs/universities/research institutions), and the public. The use cases will be examined across mission areas, which include: national security, citizen services, law enforcement, health and medical, financial, agriculture and environment, and others. Participants will be able to contribute to the development of the Milestone 9.1 Deliverables during Working Group sessions held in the afternoon of Day 1. Each Working Group will align with a mission area and will discuss the issues associated with the specific use cases. A facilitator will lead each Working Group. Cutting across all the use cases are the key mobility technologies/areas: mobile device management, mobile applications management, identity security, and data security. The objective of the Working Groups will be to flesh out the various risks and gaps that need to be considered for the use cases in the Federal baseline. The output from the Working Groups will be presented and discussed in the afternoon of Day 2. The content will serve as input to the development of the Federal wireless and mobility baseline associated with Milestone 9.1 which will be released to the Federal Government on May 23, 2013. The audience from the December TEM will be expanded to include representatives from the specific use case areas (including state and local representatives) with insight into the promises of mobility and its inherent risks. The TEM is intended for government agencies (Federal and State, Tribal, Territorial, and Local) their current employees, and their program support contractors. If you have trouble registering from a government address, an email will be sent to the registrant for clarification of your employee status. Due to space restrictions, attendance is only for government employees and contractors who are providing direct support to related government programs. All contractors will require a government sponsor and the sponsor must notify Joshua Love (Joshua.love@whmo.mil). Please join us for an informative and interactive conference that will help shape the direction mobility efforts will take in the near-future.
