Federal Computer Security Program Managers' Forum Annual Offsite

Purpose:

The Federal Computer Security Program Managers’ Forum is a group comprised of information security professionals from most federal government agencies. The purpose of the annual offsite is to help federal agency representatives protect their systems in accordance with directive and applicable statutes by attending presentations, sharing successes and failures, and networking with their peers in the federal government.

 

Topics:
Presentations include current technical, operational and management information systems security topics and updates on the information system security activities of GAO, NIST, GSA, and DHS. This year we will also have briefings on Internet security threats, the National Vulnerability Database, cloud computing, identity management, draft NIST SP 800-39 and 800-30, training initiatives, CyberScope, and the last session will consist of seven 7-minute presentations on a variety of cyber security topics.

**The meeting is open only to Federal employees and their support contractors responsible for their agencies cyber security program.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 301-822-9200. The government room rate $249, plus 13% tax, To register for a room, please contact the hotel directly and mention that you are attending the "NIST/Federal Computer Security Program Managers' Forum". Reservations must be received by May 18, 2010. After this date, the rooms will be released for general sale at the prevailing rates of the hotel.
