TRECVid Multimedia Event Detection Evaluation Track

The Multimedia Event Detection (MED) evaluation track is part of the TRECVid Evaluation. The goal of MED is to assemble core detection technologies into a system that can search multimedia recordings for user-defined events based on pre-computed metadata. The metadata stores developed by the systems are expected to be sufficiently general to permit re-use for subsequent user defined events.

MED12 will be the third evaluation following the 2010 MED Pilot and 2011 MED evaluation. MED12 will include a new larger test set, 15 new events, and a pilot Ad Hoc event evaluation. Please visit the 2012 MED web site for further details.

Data will go out to participants who have signed the data licensing agreements beginning March 2012.
