About the DD Act

The purpose of the DD Act is to ensure that people with developmental disabilities and their families have access to community services, individualized supports, and other forms of assistance to help them live full, independent lives in the community. Since the 1970s, the DD Act has evolved over time as priorities, values, and goals changed.
