Big Brothers Big Sisters is among four charity beneficiaries of State Farm All-Star Saturday Night. NBA Cares and State Farm will make a joint donation of $500,000, with $350,000 going to the winning Conference choice charities and the runner-up Conference charities sharing $150,000.
Subject matter experts from various fields gathered in the Motor City to address the extremely important topic of youth violence prevention in surrounding communities. 
In recognition of National Mentoring Month, Beiersdorf Inc., in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters has created a three month consumer awareness and fundraising initiative that will raise $100,000 to make a big difference for Big Brothers Big Sisters network.
On Oct. 29, 2012, the East Coast braced for what was predicted to be one of the worst hurricanes in recent history. With winds as high as 110 miles per hour, Hurricane Sandy took its toll on everything that stood in its path as it made landfall near Atlantic City, NJ. In all, 24 states were impacted by the storm and an estimated $65.6 billion of damages were reported, making it the second costliest hurricane in US history. Now, more than two months after the storm, Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in New York and New Jersey are still feeling the aftershock of the storm in different ways.
Big Brothers Big Sisters marks National Mentoring Month with the launch of a nationwide social media campaign to locate and reunite with former Bigs, Littles, donors and staff, board and family members.
