Collaborative Protein Technology Resource

With the recent retirement of Paul Goldsmith, The Antibody and Protein Purification Unit (APPU), a collaborative CORE facility within the Office of Science and Technology Partnerships, has been reorganized into a new core service, The Collaborative Protein Technology Resource.  The group is now situated within the Laboratory of Cell Biology.

Supported Technologies:

NanoPro Technology:  The CPTR has extensive experience in the characterization of proteins for post-translational modifications and can assist PI's with the Nanopro isoelectric focusing immunoassays which can profile in 6-24 ng of total cell lysate protein the percent phosphorylation status of a given protein using antibody specific to the unmodified protein.  This extremely sensitive technique requires validated antibodies and the CPTR will provide the validation services as well as the actual performance of the assays.  Some consumables will be required from the researcher.

Simon Simple Western Assays, Capillary based automated Western system

-  Fully automated Westen system, highly quantitative data with excellent reproducibility
