Population Sciences Special Interest Group
The Population Science Workspace is an integral component of caBIG and represents the translational bridge between clinical/basic research and cancer control and prevention. The Population Science Special Interest Group (Pop Sci SIG) aims to advance disciplines of Cancer Research including Cancer Epidemiology, Cancer Surveillance, Cancer Behavioral Science, Cancer Prevention, Cancer Control and Screening, Environmental effects, Biostatistics, and Health Outcomes Research related to Cancer by creating data standards and by developing tools that operate within the caBIG® framework to address the common needs of the above disciplines and the communities-at-large that work in them. The SIG will develop or adopt tools for data collection and retrieval, study administration and execution, data sharing and transmission, and communication with cancer registries and other cancer data sources for use by the general cancer research community. The Population Sciences SIG is part of the Integrative Cancer Research (ICR) Workspace.
