Frequently Asked Questions

There are many ways you can search for an NIA publication. Here are some tips to help.  If you need assistance, call the NIA Information Center at 1-800-222-2225 or email niaic@mail.nih.gov.

You can browse NIA’s entire catalog of publications, listed alphabetically, or look for specific NIA publications using the following search options:

• Topics: This is a broad list of some common topics of interest.  Choosing one of these 11 topics is a good way to start your search, especially if you are looking for a range of information in a particular subject area.
• Publication type: If you know specifically what type of material you are looking for—for instance an easy-to-read AgePage fact sheet, a booklet, a scientific report, or even a DVD—this is the search option that works best. If you want to search all publication types, leave as “-Any-.”
• Keyword: Here you can put in your own word or phrase. The results will be an alphabetical list of every publication that uses your search term.  Note: the most relevant publication might not be the first in the list. You might start using one of the three search options and then decide to add another search option to narrow your results. This way you have the greatest chance of finding the resources you seek.
