2013 Testimony

On March 7, 2013, NIST Director Dr. Patrick Gallagher testified before a joint hearing of the Senate Committees of Commerce, Science & Transportation; and Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs. His testimony examined the Cybersecurity Partnership Between the Private Sector & Our Government: Protecting Our National and Economic Security.

2012 Testimony

On November 14, 2012, Dr. Charles Romine, Director of
the NIST Information Technology Laboratory testified before the House Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation on Health Information Technology.

On July 19, 2012, Dr. Richard R. Cavanagh, Director of the NIST Office of Special Programs testified before the House Committee on Science, Space & Technology on Keeping America Secure:The Science Supporting the Development of Threat Detection Technologies.

On June 1, 2012, Mr. Philip Singerman, NIST Associate Director for Innovation & Industry Services testified before the House Energy & Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Commerce,
Manufacturing & Trade on American Manufacturing Competitiveness.

On May 31, 2012, NIST Director Dr. Patrick Gallagher testified before the House Committee on Science, Space & Technology Subcommittee on Technology& Innovation.

The Hearing and his testimony focused on Assembling the Facts: Examining the Proposed National Network for Manufacturing Innovation.

On May 9, 2012, Ms. Mary H. On July 25, 2011, NIST Director Dr. Patrick D. Gallagher testified before the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship on The Role of Small Businesses in Strengthening Cybersecurity Efforts in the United States.

On July 14, 2011, NIST Associate Director for Laboratory Programs, Mr. Charles Romine testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce,Science & Transportation Subcommittee on Science and Space on the National Nanotechnology Investment: Manufacturing, Commercialization and Job Creation.

On May 25, 2011, Ms. Cita Furlani, Director of the NIST Information Technology Laboratory, testified at a joint hearing before the House Committee on Science and Technology Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation;and the Subcommittee on Research and Science Education on Protecting Information in the Digital Age:Federal Cybersecurity Research and Development Efforts.

On April 13, 2011, Ms. Cita Furlani, Director of the NIST Information Technology Laboratory testified before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Biometric IDs for Pilots and Transportation Workers: A Diary of Failures.

On April 7, 2011, NIST Director Dr. Patrick D. Gallagher testified before the House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies on An Overview of the FY 2012 Budget for NIST.

On April 7, 2011,Dr. John R. Hayes, Director of the National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program of the NIST Engineering Lab,
testified before the House Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
His testimony was titled Are We Prepared? Assessing Earthquake Risk Reduction in the United States.
