Our Science – Centers of Excellence
The NCI Intramural Research Program (IRP), which includes the Center for Cancer Research and the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, has established five Centers of Excellence that are built upon CCR's existing structures and expertise in these areas:
Genitourinary Malignancies Center of Excellence
Integrative Cancer Biology and Genomics
Each Center serves as a locus of resources and infrastructure aimed at accelerating the discovery, development, and delivery of interventions for preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer and HIV/AIDS. The head of each Center serves as a steward of resources, promotes interactions among NCI investigators and with other NIH Institutes, extramural scientists, and the private sector, and leads new initiatives and projects in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary translational research.
