  • The number of active applicants who were non-U.S. citizen students/graduates of international medical schools declined from 7,246 in 2010 to 6,659 in 2011, making it the lowest number in five years; however, the match rate for this group rose from 39.8 percent to 40.0 percent.
  • The number of active U.S. citizen IMGs continued to grow, and at 3,769 was 40 percent more than in 2007. The match rate for this group was 50.0 percent.
