Description:	This thin film Giemsa stained micrograph reveals ring-forms, and gametocytes of Plasmodium falciparum. P. falciparum gametes, when mature are crescent or sausage shaped, and the RBC is often distorted, or not visible. When visible, as in this case, the RBC sometimes takes on the appearance of a crescent-shaped drape known as “Laveran’s bib” (Cntr).
