General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Air Force Maj. Gen. Samuel D. Cox has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and for assignment as deputy chief of staff, manpower, personnel and services, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Cox is currently serving as director, operations and plans, Headquarters U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
