Governor Gavin Newsom declared November 1, 2019 California Women’s Equality Day in honor of the 100th anniversary of California’s ratification of the 19th Amendment.
California municipal buildings were illuminated in purple and gold on November 1, 2019 to recognize the suffrage centennial.
November 9, 2019: “California Votes for Women: A Golden State Suffrage Celebration Hosted by California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom,” a day commemorating California women’s suffrage with free/reduced admission and special activities at the California Museum.
California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom is one of fourteen Commissioners on the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission.
The Sonoma County 2020 Women’s Suffrage Project is working with the National Women's History Alliance to commemorate the centennial in Sonoma County.
