The excitement of a fast paced basketball game has been delighting fans around the world for over a hundred years. To honor basketball – the game, the players, and the magic moments that thrill fans every day – through the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the United States Mint is delighted to present the Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Program.
Explore the ProgramSurcharges in the amount of $35 for each $5 gold coin sold; $10 for each silver dollar sold; and $5 for each half dollar sold are authorized to be paid to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to fund an endowment that will enable increased operations and educational programming.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, telephone ordering is not currently available.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT! A limited amount of Certificates of Authenticity for each of the Basketball Hall of Fame Colorized Coins will be hand-signed and numbered by the Director of the Mint. These Certificates of Authenticity will be randomly included in shipments for these products from the United States Mint’s fulfillment center.
