- Evaluation of the Part D Payment Demonstration - The purpose of this study and series of reports is to evaluate the Part D payment demonstration. In September 2005 CMS stared this demonstration that represented an alternative payment approach for private plans offering prescription drug coverage under Part D, allowing private sector plans maximum flexibility to design alternative prescription drug coverage. The demonstration is expected to increase the number of offerings of supplemental benefits through enhanced alternative coverage.
