Year-End Processing—NIH Data Warehouse Can Help

Let the NIH Data Warehouse (DW) help you with those daunting tasks at the end of the fiscal year. DWQuery Budget & Finance features special reports developed for year-end tasks. Many other DWQuery business areas also offer valuable standard reports that answer important year-end questions.

Helpful Reports by Business Area

• Budget and Finance

  The Year-End Processing module provides reports offering:
        -   detailed information on commitments, obligations, accruals, and disbursements for FY 2003
        -   DES Work Request (contains Request Number, CAN, and Commitment-Obligation Amount)
        -   Unconditional Gift Fund Allowance
        -   12 Report (details of all transactions for a specific date range)
        -   Balance of Accounts for fiscal year 2003
        -   Unliquidated Obligations for Selected FY

  The Administrative module contains:
        -   FY 2003 Summarized Activity for Government Purchase Cards

• Procurements

  The Open Procurements and Market Requisitions module provides:
        -   Unpaid Procurements (identifies money that can be freed for spending this FY)
        -   Searches that offer quick status at the click of a button for CAN, order, requestor

  This business area offers several reports that can be helpful at the end of the fiscal year by identifying lease agreement activity and available inter-agency agreement funds.

  The Research Contracts module contains:

        -   Open Documents for Inter-Agency Agreements contains Agreements Balance
        -   Contract Summary by Document Number for Selected IC

• Travel

  The Sorted by Traveler Name report is useful at the end of the fiscal year to summarize staff travel activities and to formulate a new travel budget based on current year expenditures.

• Staff Training and Development

  During year-end processing, use the Training Cost by Employee report to review an organization’s overall training expenditures and to identify trends.
