HowTo.gov: What’s New

HowTo.gov-Helping agencies deliver a great customer experience

HowTo.gov is a website to help government workers deliver a better customer experience to citizens.

If you’ve visited HowTo.gov today, you’ve seen that the site just got a facelift!  Based on First Fridays testing and customer feedback, we’ve made some design upgrades to our site, and added new features to make the site easier to use.

For those of you who are not familiar:

HowTo.gov has  the latest guidance, requirements, training, and best practices related to digital government in the U.S.

Besides the updated color scheme and logo, here’s what’s new:

Better Ways to Navigate: We’ve refined our top level content channels (Web Content, Social Media, Mobile, Challenges & Contests, Contact Centers, Customer Experience) and added a second level of navigation for Training, Communities, the DigitalGov blog, and Services & Tools.

Email Updates: Notice the “subscribe” link and red envelope icon in our Toolbox, and the “get email updates” link at the top of the page. You can now subscribe to receive email updates on popular topics and pages, to keep up-to-date on topics you care about.

DigitalGov Blog: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, research, and hot topics in digital government.  With nearly 100 posts over the past several months, the blog is great way to stay connected and engage with your peers. Join the discussion.

Training: As always, DigitalGov University offers up-to-date training in digital media and citizen engagement. Visit our ever-expanding library of on-demand classes to catch up on past events you may have missed.

Community: If you haven’t already, join one of the Web and New Media Communities of Practice.  Ask questions, start a discussion, add an event to the community calendar, or add content to the wiki.

Suggest Content Page: Do you have an idea for new content or a suggestion on making HowTo.gov better? Get involved and submit your suggestion. We rely on you to help make the site the best it can be.

We’ve also added new content to help you meet the milestones of the Digital Strategy.  We’ll update this section regularly as milestones come down the pike.  And you’ll have the chance to comment and contribute useful resources.
