The following Terms of Use govern the APPS.gov NOW website and hosted applications. We reserve the right to modify them at any time. They include any applicable laws, regulations or policies incorporated by reference. Changes to the Terms of Use are effective immediately upon posting. By using this website, users agree to all of the Terms of Use. Failure to fully comply with the Terms of Use or any related laws, rules and regulations may result in denial of use or access to APPS.gov NOW.
Purpose
APPS.gov NOW is a hosting service designed to enable the rapid deployment of specific web-based applications for the purpose of interacting with the public in a secure and readily accessible environment. The low-level, time-consuming tasks of researching, installing and configuring—and going through the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process for these applications—are performed by us. This frees participating agencies to concentrate on engaging and interacting with the public through the offered applications.
General Conditions for Use
The use of APPS.gov NOW is subject to the federal government and the General Services Administration’s guidelines for website access. Users should treat this site as they would any government-owned and -operated website.
Your Responsibilities
Users must have a valid government email address, and are responsible for obtaining proper agency approval for acquiring and provisioning APPS.gov NOW products. While the tools are certified 508-compliant, it is your responsibility to ensure compliance of any uploaded content after the tools are provisioned (i.e., alt-text and captions for media, etc.).
Remember that your official on-line activities are subject to the ethics regulations in your agency as well as other federal and agency laws, policies and regulations. In addition, check your agencies policies and guidance for privacy, external site links, and writing style.
Hours of Operation
The Beta version currently offers tech support from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday Eastern Time. (Support hours may be extended in future releases).
Identification of Participants
The site is intended for use by all federal government agencies. Site visitors who are not registered/authorized users can access site pages that do not require authorized access. Authorized access and credentials to the site should be protected as they would for any secured site. Attempts to access the site are reviewed, recorded and logged, including all activity once access has been granted.
Terms of Use Violation
If an agency or representative violates the Terms of Use, APPS.gov NOW access and/or use privileges may be revoked or suspended. Any hosted applications may also be shutdown or removed.
Applicable Law
The use of the website and any of the applications or products offered through APPS.gov NOW and the interpretation of these Terms of Use shall be governed by and enforced in accordance with applicable federal law.
