Constitution Day, also known as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, is observed nationally on September 17 every year.  In 2004, Congress mandated that schools receiving federal funding provide education about the Constitution to remember the principles and practices protected and provided for in the Constitution.

Because the observance comes early in the school year, teachers often seek partners in the community who will provide Constitution-related programming.  In response to this need, some federal courts across the nation open their doors to high school students in September and throughout the year to explore Constitutional principles.

Some courts show the latest video of Supreme Court Justices conversing with high school students about the Constitution. The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts supports these videos with a new discussion package every year that draws students into a live conversation with local Federal Judges at their nearest federal courthouse.

In the Constitution Day section, judges, teachers, and students will find handouts, activities, videos, audio podcasts, trial scripts, and other resources.
