98-Year-Old Farmer Still Bringing Goods to Local Farmers Market

It was 1918 when Elmer Moje first took crops to market with his father on a horse and wagon in North Tonawanda, New York. Moje, who turns 99 later this month, still takes his crops to the market once or twice a week.

USDA Directory Records More Than 7,800 Farmers Markets

Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan today announced a 9.6 percent increase in National Farmers Market Directory listings as the kickoff to National Farmers Market Week. The directory identifies 7,864 farmers markets operating throughout the United States.
