The 2013 Alternative Break schedule has been posted.  Spend your spring break giving back to trails while enjoying an awesome outdoor adventure! (be sure to check back for additional project sites listed throughout the fall)

President Obama Signs Transportation Bill!

The President signed the bill on Friday, July 6, 2012. For the first time since 2009, the nation has a new  transportation bill (albeit only a two-year bill) that includes both good & bad news for trails. While portions of the bill take a giant step backwards, it could have been far worse for the trails community. Read our in-depth coverage of MAP-21-Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century.

National Trails Fund Grant Winners Announced!

Congratulations to the 11 organizations that received funding and thanks to all who applied! The National Trails Fund is American Hiking Society’s annual grant program designed to give non-profit organizations the funding necessary to build, maintain, and repair trails across the nation. Thanks to LL Bean, MSR and Therm-a-Rest for sponsoring this important program.
