Air Force

Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC)  The AFPC provides answers to frequently asked questions concerning casualty services, Casualty Assistance Representatives, and death benefits.  Users can submit additional questions to be answered.

Army

Army Casualty Website  This website provides casualty assistance resources for commanders and family members.  It has a thorough list of publications, public laws, forms, benefits, terms, and acronyms.  It also has a link to a comprehensive, user-friendly survivor's guide.

Army Community Covenant State Resource Map  The Community Covenant is an initiative of the Secretary of the Army rolled out in early 2008 to invite communities (states, cities, and towns) across America to demonstrate their support for service members and their families.  Select your state on the map and find out how you can show your support.

My Army OneSource  This website provides a number of different resources and services for Soldiers and their families.

Department of Defense/All Services

AfterDeployment.org  Provides self-care solutions targeting post-traumatic stress, depression, and other behavioral health challenges commonly faced after a deployment.

Courage to Care  A new, electronic health campaign for military and civilian professionals serving the military community, as well as for military men, women and families. Courage to Care consists of electronic fact sheets on timely health topics relevant to military life that provide actionable information.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy  This office is directly responsible for programs and policies which establish and support community quality of life programs on military installations for service members and their families worldwide. This office also serves as the focal point for coordination of the broad range of Quality of Life issues within the Department of Defense.

Deployment Health and Family Readiness Library  This library provides Service members, families, leaders, Health Care providers, and veterans an easy way to find deployment health and family readiness information.

Deployment Related Illnesses  A two-page primer for health care providers who see Service members and veterans at other times after their redeployment from Operation Enduring Freedom. Contains general post-deployment health information and a table of alerting symptoms and signs of illnesses that may be related to this deployment.

Military Family Research Institute  The primary mission of the Military Family Institute is to conduct scientifically sound research focusing on military families. This research will enable the Department of Defense to better understand, serve, and enhance the lives of military families, and thus contribute to the strength of the Nation by increasing readiness and retention in the Armed Forces.

Military OneSource  This website provides information and resources to help balance work and family life. Consultants are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by phone, online, or via email offering personalized support to any service or family member. Military OneSource can connect individuals with a trained, state-licensed mental health professional in the community, telephonically, or online for confidential/private counseling.

Military Youth on the Move  A replacement for Military Teens on the Move (MTOM), this site is an easy-to-use resource that reaches out to youth with creative ways to cope with issues that arise in the face of a move, such as transitioning to a new school, saying goodbye to friends, and getting involved in a new community. The website is divided into three target audiences: elementary school, middle school, and high school. Users simply click on their age group to get started. Once inside the site, users search different topics that pertain to both military youth in particular and youth in general.

Post Deployment Health  PDHealth.mil was designed to assist clinicians in the delivery of post-deployment healthcare by fostering a trusting partnership between military men and women, veterans, their families, and their healthcare providers to ensure the highest quality care for those who make sacrifices in the world's most hazardous workplace.

Redeployment Health Briefing  A one-page primer for health care providers who see Service members at the time of their redeployment from Operation Enduring Freedom. An introduction to the health screening process.

SuicideOutreach.org  A comprehensive resource providing information on hotlines, treatments, professional resources, and forums. The site supports all Service Branches, the National Guard and the Reserves, and our veterans, families, and providers. 

Warrior Care  The Office of Wounded Warrior Care and Transition Policy ensures recovering wounded, ill, injured, and transitioning members of the Armed Forces receive equitable, consistent, and high-quality support and services.

Marine Corps

Marine Corps Casualty Assistance  This website provides resources to commanders and survivors.  There are links to current information on issues ranging from survivor benefits to military funeral honors, as well as downloadable guides for survivors and Casualty Assistance Officers.

National Guard

Army National Guard Family Support  Outlines Army National Guard Family Support initiatives and programs.

National Guard Family  This is the official website for all issues impacting National Guard families.  The site provides locations, benefits, and links to many useful websites on children, youth, employment assistance, and other National Guard programs.

National Guard Youth Challenge Foundation  The National Guard Youth Challenge Foundation's primary mission is to broaden awareness of the success of the Challenge Program and support the expansion of the program in all fifty states.

National Guard & Reserve TRICARE Benefits Video  A navigational video that will explain your TRICARE benefits once you have been mobilized.

Navy

Navy Casualty Assistance  This website provides casualty assistance-related resources for commanders and family members.  There are several links to forms and publications as well as a downloadable survivor's guide.

Navy Fleet and Family Support  Through this website, Sailors and family members may access information on a wide range of programs focused on adapting to the special demands of military careers and military family life.

Reserve Affairs

Air Force Reserve Family Readiness  The Air Force Reserve Command Family Readiness offices assist and support families of deployed Air Force Reserve personnel. The Family Readiness offices are located within the units and provide assistance on all family-related matters to include information and referral services. Toll-free phone numbers for each of the Family Readiness offices are provided on the website.

Army Reserve Family Programs (ARFP)  ARFP is committed to offering education, training, awareness, outreach, information, referral, and follow-up.  This site provides information on family program support offices, reserve family member benefits, family readiness handbooks, and reserve family news.

Marine Corps Community Service (MCCS)  MCCS provides a wide range of services to help Marines and their family members enhance their quality of life including counseling, information and referral, and programs/services related to the military lifestyle.

Navy Reserve Ombudsman Program  Navy Reserve Ombudsman provide command information, counseling referrals and act as resources for Navy Reservists and their families on a wide variety of issues.

National Guard and Reserve Family Readiness Strategic Plan for 2000 - 2005  Prepared by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs and the Office of Family Policy (within the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Personnel Support, Families and Education) this plan seeks to ensure that reservists and National Guard members and their families are prepared to cope with the strains associated with long or repeated deployments and are adequately served by military family care systems, networks and organizations

Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs  This site is dedicated to today's Reserve force. It provides information about the policies, programs, and initiatives that OSD/Reserve Affairs manages for the National Guard and Reserve Components of the United States Armed Forces. This includes family support/readiness issues.

Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program  National Guard and Reserve Component service members face challenges that are inherently different from their counterparts in the active component in terms of readjusting to civilian life and returning to families, hometowns, and civilian employment.  The FY08 National Defense Authorization Act, Section 582 requires the Secretary of Defense to establish a national combat veteran reintegration program, known as the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, to administer and coordinate all reintegration programs for the National Guard and Reserve Components.  Read the latest program newsletter.

Transitioning Service Members

Army Ombudsman Program in Support of Warriors in Transition  The Ombudsman functions as a resource in support of Soldiers assigned to a Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) and their Family Members as well as non-WTU Soldiers and their Family Members who need assistance with a medical related issue.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)  This website describes the wide variety of VA services, benefits, and special programs with online application forms.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Mental Health  Provides information on psychiatric services available through the VA.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Facilities Locator  Information on all 1,719 VA Facilities throughout the world.

GI Bill Benefits and Services  This website provides a comprehensive presentation of Montgomery GI Bill educational benefits, services, regulations, and forms.

Marine For Life  A Marine Corps organization that provides nationwide assistance to Marines who are returning to civilian life; Marine reservists; and all Marine veterans throughout their lives. Marine For Life also assists Sailors who have served with Marine Corps units. 

My HealtheVet  My HealtheVet is VA’s award–winning e–health website, which offers Veterans, active duty soldiers, their dependents and caregivers anywhere, anytime Internet access to VA health care information and services.

Returning Service Members  A Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits website specifically dedicated to service members who have served in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom.

Social Security Administration (SSA) Disability Benefits for Wounded Warriors  Military service members can receive expedited processing of disability claims from Social Security. Benefits available through Social Security are different than those from the Department of Veterans Affairs and require a separate application.

TurboTAP.org  DoD's official transition website. TurboTAP is an easy to use, interactive web portal that provides life-long support to separating Service members (active duty, Guard, and Reserve) and their families. It is a single source starting point for accessing key resources available for Service members transitioning out of the military at any point in their military career.
