The Federal Response Plan

The Federal Response Plan or FRP, is the multi-organization disaster response plan for helping states during and after catastrophic disasters that overwhelm state and local government emergency response capabilities. The FRP has been replaced by the National Response Framework.

Federal Radiological Emergency Response Plan

The FRERP describes how the federal response will be organized during peacetime radiological emergencies within the U.S. or its territories. These emergencies could occur at fixed nuclear facilities or during the transportation of radioactive materials, including nuclear weapons. This plan has National Response Framework.

Regulations

Radiological Emergency Planning and Preparedness Regulation 44 CFR Part 351

This regulation establishes the federal organizational structure for technical assistance to state and local governments to plan and prepare for peacetime radiological emergencies. The regulation also gives EPA the responsibility to set up Protective Action Guides for states.
