U.S. Census History

The decennial census is part of a national tradition started by the founders of this country more than 200 years ago. This gallery provides a glimpse of the films, videos, photographs and audio from a cross-section of decennial census promotional efforts. While the times may have changed, the content of this gallery proves that the decennial census had always been an important part of our democracy.
