In 2010, the following four states consumed the most natural gas:
- Texas — 3.3 Tcf (Trillion Cubic Feet)
- California — 2.3 Tcf
- Louisiana — 1.4 Tcf
- New York — 1.2 Tcf
U.S.-marketed production of natural gas in 2010 was 22.4 Tcf. The top producing states were:
- Texas — 6.7 Tcf
- Wyoming — 2.3 Tcf
- Louisiana — 2.2 Tcf
- Oklahoma — 1.8 Tcf
- Colorado — 1.6 Tcf
- New Mexico — 1.3 Tcf
In addition, there was 2.2 Tcf of production from the Federal Offshore Gulf of Mexico.
