VETERANS' AFFAIRS COMMITTEE WEBSITE HONORED WITH CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MOUSE AWARD

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) honored the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, chaired by U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii), with the Congressional Gold Mouse Award, recognizing the Committee’s website as one of the best in Congress.  Among the 620 Congressional websites evaluated, the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs was one of just 38 honored with the Gold Mouse for displaying the five core principles that CMF believes exhibit superior online communications.

“Congressional websites play an important role in helping Americans stay informed.  As Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I want our website to serve as a tool for veterans, their families, and interested citizens,” said Akaka.

“One of the key reasons for the awards is to highlight best practices so offices can improve their sites by learning from those already excelling in online communications. The Congressional Management Foundation congratulates Chairman Akaka for having a website that is among the best-of-the-best on Capitol Hill,” said Beverly Bell, CMF’s Executive Director.
