Introduction

The Library of Congress holds one of the largest and most accessible collections of technical reports in the world. They include reports issued by the Department of Energy, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Department of Defense, and other U.S. Government agencies. Seventy percent of the Library's Technical reports collection are located in the Science and Technology Division. The remainder are in the Library's general (classed) collection and in its Photoduplication Service archives. Most of the reports in the division are on microfiche and are filed by report series code.

The purpose of this list is to provide assistance in identifying report series available in the Science and Technology Division's microfiche and microcard collections. It is not intended to be a complete list of report series available in LC.

Large collections include such series as the AD, PB, ERIC, NASA, and Dockets. Special collections are somewhat smaller but are filed separately. these include SAE, AIAA, COM, EIS, and TT's.

This list does not include domestic and foreign hardcopy reports nor reports received on microfilm. If you are unable to locate a particular series, contact the Technical Reports Section. Technical Information Specialists will assist readers in using the technical reports collection.
