Well -- maybe. Their banner says they're part of the ILGWU, and the signs in the background say "We condemn child labor." This looks like a standard (ladies') union marching in a standard Labor Day parade.

Thanks. You know I had it that way to start with and changed it! I remember ads on the radio for the ILGWU when I was a kid. It was a song.

Interesting point! It does make you wonder why the Bain News Service wrote 'Suffragettes' on this photograph, while we have no visual evidence they are actually suffragettes, and more evidence they are simply marching in a Labor Day parade as members of a union. Hard to say if this is an assumption made by the original captioner or if it was based on some other piece of information we do not have.
