NIH Online Technology Transfer Training

The Public Health Service Technology Transfer Policy Board is committed to educating NIH intramural research scientists on the essential principles and processes related to technology transfer. The training resources located at http://tttraining.od.nih.gov will help NIH scientists familiarize themselves with the mechanisms of technology transfer with the goal of maximizing the potential of their research activities. Non-NIH staff are also able to use this training resource.

This training is mandatory for all NIH Principal Investigators (Senior Investigators, Investigators, Adjunct Investigators, and Senior Scientists/Clinicians) and portions of the training are required for all NIH Fellows, Graduate Students, and Staff Scientists/Staff Clinicians.

Note that effective March 2010, certain material transfers require "special attention" including when NIH intramural scientists transfer human materials (see flow chart Adobe PDF Format for guidance). To learn more about these transfers contact your TDC (http://www.ott.nih.gov/nih_staff/tdc.aspx).
