Ms. Lynne Halbrooks is the Principal Deputy Inspector General for the Department of Defense and serves as the head of the OIG under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act. She served as the Acting Inspector General from December 25, 2011 to June 21, 2012. Ms. Halbrooks came to the Department of Defense Inspector General on March 1, 2009, upon being selected to serve as General Counsel. Previously, Ms. Halbrooks was the General Counsel for the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction.

Prior to joining the IG Community in October 2007, Ms. Halbrooks served with the Sergeant at Arms in the United States Senate – first as General Counsel and later as the Deputy Sergeant at Arms. There, she oversaw an agency of more than 950 employees. (Read More)
