Inspector General's Summary of Management and Performance Challenges

Annually, the Department of Defense Inspector General (DoD IG) prepares a summary of the most significant management and performance challenges facing the Department of Defense (DoD). We refer to this as the Inspector General's Summary of Management and Performance Challenges. This summary fulfills the DoD IG's requirement under the Reports Consolidation Act of 2000, Public Law 106-531, to provide a statement to the Department annually that summarizes what the Inspector General considers to be the most serious management and performance challenges facing the Department, and to briefly assess the Department's progress in addressing those challenges.

The assessment is included as an appendix to the publicly available DoD annual Agency Financial Report (AFR).
