TITLE OF CLERKSHIP: GENERAL MEDICINE WARD ROTATION
DEPARTMENT: Medicine
NUMBER OF STUDENTS ROTATING ON SERVICE AT ONCE: 3 (one per ward team)

OBJECTIVES/DESCRIPTION OF CLERKSHIP:
Each clinical clerk will be assigned to a ward team consisting of one or two interns, a resident and a staff physician. The exact extent of the clerks duties will be determined by his or her experience and interest, but, in general, it is expected that a clerk will function at the subintern level. The ward experience will offer exposure to the diagnosis and management of a wide range of general medical problems. Clinical clerks will be expected to read extensively about their patients and attend the regularly scheduled departmental teaching conferences. The call is no more often than 7 days in 28.
