CAMEO Software Suite

The CAMEO (Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations) software products have been valuable hazardous materials response and planning tools since the first products were introduced in 1986.

The CAMEO software suite consists of four core programs: CAMEOfm, CAMEO Chemicals, ALOHA, and MARPLOT. These applications can be used together or separately, but when they are used together, the programs interact seamlessly and information can be linked easily between them.

In addition to these core programs, there are a variety of other programs that can be used with the CAMEO software suite. Click on any of the links below to find out more about the CAMEO software suite and associated programs.

CAMEO Software Suite: Core Programs

CAMEOfm: A database application that includes several modules to assist with data management requirements under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). For example, you can use these modules to enter information about local facilities with hazardous chemicals and to store emergency contact information. This program can also be used to navigate between ALOHA, MARPLOT, and the downloadable version of CAMEO Chemicals.

CAMEO Chemicals: A program that allows you to search for chemicals in the CAMEO chemical database, print customized reports with response recommendations, and find out how chemicals would react if they mixed. This program is available as a website and as a downloadable program; however, only the downloadable version can share information with other programs in the CAMEO software suite.

ALOHA: A modeling application that estimates threat zones associated with hazardous chemical releases, including toxic gas clouds, fires, and explosions.

MARPLOT: A mapping program with which you can easily view and modify maps, and you can also create your own objects.

CAMEO Software Suite: Related Software

Tier2 Submit: A program that generates an electronic chemical inventory Tier II facility report, which can be used to automatically update the facility information in CAMEOfm.

RMP*Comp: A tool to help facilities complete the offsite consequence analysis that is required as part of the Risk Management Plan.

The Chemical Reactivity Worksheet: A program that allows you to see what reactions might occur when pairs of chemicals are mixed together. You can virtually mix any of the chemicals from the CAMEO chemical database, add reactive groups to the mix, print the resulting hazards in a reactivity report, and store collections of virtually mixed chemicals.
