Comparison Groups: Find a research study

NIDA relies on comparison groups to find out how certain drugs affect the body and brain. Some of our comparison groups are made up of volunteers who do not use drugs of any kind, including nicotine-these study participants will not be exposed to any illicit drugs. Other comparison groups may be made up of volunteers who do use some types of drugs, including nicotine-these study participants may be exposed to nicotine or study medications under medical supervision and in accordance with strict research guidelines.

If you are in generally good health, you may be able to join one of our research studies. It's free to join, and you will be paid for your time and travel.

The following studies are active and currently enrolling participants. If you're interested, please take a moment to contact us and learn more about studies that are going on now.
