GC-IMT Gulf States Severe Weather Plan

GC-IMT Gulf Coast States Severe Weather Plan

The Gulf Coast Incident Management Team (GC-IMT) developed the 2011 Severe Weather Plan (SWP) to outline the GC-IMT's supporting role to FEMA and the State Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) if called upon to respond to post-hurricane oily debris removal from Gulf Coast areas still affected by the Macondo-252 spill.  The plan describes the basic strategies, assumptions, operational goals, objectives, and mechanisms through which these states will mobilize resources and conduct activities to guide and support efforts through preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.  This is the product of a detailed and focused planning process that fully incorporates the National Incident Management System (NIMS) concepts, principles, practices and language. The plan also capitalizes on the lessons learned from tropical weather incidents, exercises, and other recent disasters and incorporates plans, programs and policies from the Gulf Coast Restoration Organization (GCRO) and the GC-IMT.
