U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL)

USAARL's research programs solve medical and health-related problems that compromise the safety or deter the mission performance of the aviator and Soldier. The laboratory conducts research on neurosensory injury, return-to-duty standards for wounded warriors, and equipment for the medical evacuation environment.

U.S. Army Dental & Trauma Research Detachment (USADTRD)

USADTRD focuses on improving dental treatment and operational readiness, reduce dental emergency rates for deployed soldiers, prevent head and neck trauma with individual protective devices, and gain knowledge of occurrence and prevention of specific dental problems.

U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD)

6th Medical Logistics Management Center (6MLMC)

6MLMC's mission is to provide centralized management of Class VIII materiel and medical equipment maintenance to supported forces conducting joint and simultaneous full spectrum operations. 6MLMC performs this mission using split-based operations; forward teams deploy into theater while the 6MLMC base operates from the Continental United States. 6MLMC is a direct supporting unit to Forces Command (FORSCOM) under administrative control to the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (MRMC).

Armed Forces Medical Examiner System (AFMES)

The mission of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System is to operate a system that provides comprehensive services in forensic pathology, forensic toxicology, DNA technology and identification, and mortality surveillance for the Department of Defense. The organization consists of the Division of Operations; the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory and its Armed Forces Repository of Specimen Samples for the Identification of Remains; the Division of Forensic Toxicology; and the Medical Mortality Surveillance Division. The AFMES is the only comprehensive medical examiner system in the federal government, and is considered a world leader in forensics and forensic investigations.

National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM)

The National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) was established during the Civil War as the Army Medical Museum, a center for the collection of specimens for research in military medicine and surgery.
