The ESP for the Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of Tactical Infrastructure, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) San Diego Sector, California (Segments A-1 and A-2A) is available for public information and use. The tactical infrastructure is being constructed between ports of entry in areas along the U.S. - Mexico international border that are currently experiencing high levels of illegal cross border activity. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) performed an environmental analysis and prepared the Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP) to document potential environmental impacts associated with the project and to ensure that adverse environmental impacts are minimized, to the extent practicable. This ESP was based, in part, on a previous Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that was prepared for public review and comment from January 13, 2008 to February 11, 2008. CBP also hosted a public open house at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California on January 17, 2008. Agency and public comments from the open house were considered and incorporated in the ESP. |
