Improving Spoken English Two-day Course

Would you like to become more comfortable speaking English? The OITE offers a two-day English class several times a year for trainees who have been in the United States ess than two years. Geared to help you gain confidence speaking English, the course takes place on a Friday and Monday to give you the chance to practice over the weekend. Course activities include the following: practicing scientific conversations, exploring US culture, discussing how to write professional e-mail, and learning about additional English language resources.

We offer this course three or four times a year, so if you cannot attend both days of the course, please plan to come to another session. Additionally, note that your PI must agree that it is OK for you to be out of lab for the entire class (we will send you a consent form that you can send back with your PI's signature).

This class is currently being offered in Bethesda. We are continuing to expand our efforts to bring programming to other campuses. Participants from Baltimore, Frederick, and Twinbrook are encouraged to attend in Bethesda. Others should contact Julie Gold (goldje@mail.nih.gov) to discuss options.
