The VA High Tech Medical Equipment (HTME) Branch awards contracts for high-tech medical equipment at competitive prices.  Although these national contracts are available for use by any Federal agency, only the NAC has authority to place the delivery orders with the contractors with the exception of the Department of Defense (DoD).  DoD orders are placed by Defense Logistics Agency-Troop Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Most delivery orders are placed through a consolidation process three to four times per year.  Emergency orders are placed within 30 days after receipt of a funded purchase request.  High Tech Medical Equipment staff enters purchases into the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) on a quarterly basis for any customer purchasing equipment from NAC.  For additional information please contact Mr. Eric Lee, Acting Assistant Director, (708) 786-5251, or contact the appropriate Contract Specialist directly.
