Office of Acquisition and Logistics — Supplier Relationship Management

Forums

VA’s first initiative in improving communication with suppliers was to host SRM forums.  The forums presented an opportunity for suppliers to participate in small facilitated breakout group sessions in which they were asked to speak openly about their experiences in dealing with the VA acquisitions process.  Forum attendees were separated into groups based on the industry they served, presented with a list of topics to discuss, and asked to share what is currently working well and what areas need improvement.

VA leadership was also on hand at the forums to address supplier concerns.  The sessions were documented and the detailed reports, which highlighted key themes and recommendations captured at the forums, were presented to the VA Office of Acquisitions and Logistics shortly after the conclusion of each forum.
