Congressional Bills

Provides access to invasive species related Congressional bills for the House and Senate, including introduction date, sponsor, summary, full bill text, and bill status:

A bill is the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills go first to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise bills before they go to general debate. The majority of bills never make it out of committee.

See How Our Laws Are Made for more information.

Information on the current status of bills is available from the THOMAS legislative database produced by the Library of Congress. Also see Congressional Bills from the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO). An explanation of bill abbreviations and types is available in About Congressional Bills.

Note: See Congress.gov (beta) for legislation from the 107th Congress (2001) to the present. As the Congress.gov project progresses, all of the information on THOMAS.gov will be integrated into the beta site.
