Broadening Participation Outreach
Background
The Foundation sponsors outreach events to gather community feedback for new programs, as well as to identify specific concerns within the community.
- The Office of Budget, Finance and Award Oversight (BFA) conducts outreach activities to educate the community about funding opportunities and policies and procedures, as well as to help investigators submit more competitive proposals. BFA outreach activities are availiable at http://www.nsf.gov/bfa/dias/policy/outreach.jsp.
- The Office of Legislative and Public Affairs conducts "NSF Days" to acquaint diverse institutions and regions of the country with research and education programs. "NSF Days" information is available at http://www.nsf.gov/events/event_group.jsp?group_id=20013&org=NSF.
- NSF Programs and divisions sponsor workshops to encourage the community to identify new areas of research and education (as an example, the Division of Materials Research lists their workshops at http://www.nsf.gov/mps/dmr/reports.jsp).
