Expertise in NMR experimentation and analysis using the most current hardware and software. This group provides characterization of individual small molecules as well as metabolomic analysis for the comparative analysis of complex mixtures of metabolites in clinical samples such as serum and urine. Members of this group also have extensive experience in electronics engineering, pulse sequence programming, and database access.

Protein Chemistry Laboratory (Advanced Technology Program, SAIC-Frederick)

Expertise

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy and fluorescence and complementary chemistry techniques for protein identification, including mass spectrometry (MS) and classic Edman protein sequencing.  The lab has state-of-the-art MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry with imaging and high mass detection capabilities.  The laboratory also provides HPLC purification and quality control of protein and oligonuleotides.
