- CHILD SUPPORT MONTH: Governor Markell proclaimed September as Child Support Month. Clients who need paternity established are invited to join DCSE in celebration by participating in FREE DNA PATERNITY TESTING weekdays, September 17-28, 2012 at any one of our offices (NCC, KC & SC). Testing times are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10am-12pm and Tuesday and Thursday 1pm-3pm. Parents who do NOT want the FREE DNA testing can simply agree to sign a Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity. Contact customer service with any questions Monday-Friday 9am-4pm for further assistance or information.
- ELECTRONIC DEPOSIT OPTIONS: As of April 1, 2011 DCSE is required to electronically deposit child support payments into either a DIRECT DEPOSIT -or- FIRST STATE FAMILY CARD account. Did you enroll yet? If not, do so today; it's FAST, FREE & SECURE! Watch a quick video about your electronic deposit options, then print out the Enrollment Form, complete and return it (along with any other required documentation) to any one of our three offices.
- PATERNITY: If you were NOT married when your child was born, establish paternity (document the biological father of your child) for FREE without having to go to court, through the Voluntary Acknowledgement Program (VAP).
- $25.00 ANNUAL FEE: The Federal Government requires DCSE to collect a $25 fee on an annual basis from custodial parents who have never received Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
