Ways to Relax
Sometimes we simply cannot control the chaos of life. But we can take charge of
how we respond by learning to tap into our own innate "relaxation response."
What does this mean? It means setting aside about 5 to 10 minutes
(daily if possible!) to practice one or more of the exercises listed below:
What are the benefits? These exercises will help you to:
- Relax the body and all its systems (including the digestive system).
- Help lower blood pressure.
- Improve delivery and increase the amount of oxygen to the heart, lungs, and other
organs.
- Ease some of the symptoms associated with nicotine withdrawal and food cravings
including nervousness and anxiety.
